| Why
Volunteer?
We involve
volunteers of ALL ages and welcome people from all areas of our
diverse communities. Different people get different things from
volunteering, but some of the most popular reasons are to gain
new skills, share knowledge, have fun or give something back to
the community. |
|
|
|
We always
welcome volunteers to help with the following:
-
Luncheon Clubs -
preparing and serving hot meals
-
Befriending - a couple
of hours per week can make a huge difference to someone just
home from hospital or socially isolated
-
Advice and Information
- our advisors are trained to give information on a huge
range of topics, including pension credits, allowances and
benefits
-
Administration - we
have volunteers who support our administrative services,
answer the telephone and deal directly with customers
-
Shop retail staff - the
volunteers serve customers, help sort clothes, tidy, build
displays
-
IT training - we have
volunteers who provide basic computer training for those who
have never used a computer before
-
Gardening Service
-
The Shopping train

Our volunteers receive the same induction and training, the same
encouragement and motivation, adhere to the same Health and
Safety rules, are given feedback, have career progression if
they want it. They are a CRITICAL part of the Age Concern Team.
We could not deliver the services we do without them.
“Volunteers are
unpaid not because they are valueless but because they are
Priceless” |
| |
| |
|
We need
caring, reliable, supportive volunteers |
